The Splinter of Lies is one of the more interesting Soul Splinters in Diablo 4 Season 15. It does not directly turn your character into a stronger killing machine. Instead, it rewards you for taking on extra risk by increasing Gold, Crafting Material drops, and experience. For players already spending hours farming Sanctuary, Diablo 4 Gold can be another resource to consider while preparing for a long progression session.

Splinter of Lies Effects Explained

Splinter of Lies is tied to Belial and can be socketed into jewelry. Its basic effect is straightforward: you gain Cold Resistance, better Gold and Crafting Material Drop Rates, and 25% Bonus Experience.

The resource bonus becomes stronger as you upgrade the Soul Splinter:

• Lesser: 40% increased Gold and Crafting Material Drop Rates
• Rare: 60% increased Gold and Crafting Material Drop Rates
• Greater: 80% increased Gold and Crafting Material Drop Rates
• Abyssal: 100% increased Gold and Crafting Material Drop Rates

The 25% experience bonus stays the same at every tier.

There is a catch. Splinter of Lies permanently leaves your character Weakened and Vulnerable. Upgrading it does not remove this drawback. In other words, you are trading defense for faster resource and experience farming.

Where to Farm Splinter of Lies

If you want to target this specific Soul Splinter, Nightmare Dungeons are a good place to start.

Look for Sapphire Reserves, which fit the Cold Resistance theme associated with Splinter of Lies. Once you find one, focus on opening its reward chests.

Do not simply rush through the dungeon and ignore the Reserve. The chest is the part of the route you actually care about.

A Simple Farming Route:

1. Enter a suitable Nightmare Dungeon.
2. Look for Sapphire Reserves.
3. Clear enemies around the Reserve rather than skipping everything.
4. Open the reward chests.
5. Keep every Splinter of Lies you find.
6. Repeat with another dungeon.

The Reserve does not guarantee the Soul Splinter, so expect some unlucky runs. The advantage is that you are working toward a specific item instead of relying entirely on random Soul Splinter drops.

Upgrade It With Amalgamation

Once you start collecting duplicates, head to the Horadric Cube.

Five Splinter of Lies copies with the same rarity can be combined through Amalgamation to create one copy at the next tier.

The progression is:

Lesser → Rare → Greater → Abyssal

The ingredients must match both the Soul Splinter type and rarity. You cannot throw different Soul Splinter families together to complete the recipe.

If you begin with only Lesser copies, reaching Abyssal requires a total of 125 matching copies. Higher-rarity drops can reduce the amount of farming needed, so keep an eye on everything you find rather than immediately salvaging or selling duplicates.

You also cannot stack duplicate Splinter of Lies effects for extra bonuses. Once you have the one you need, additional copies are mainly upgrade material.

When Should You Equip It?

This is where Splinter of Lies becomes more interesting.

Use it when your build can comfortably survive the content. Helltide is a particularly useful farming environment because enemies are plentiful and you can work toward several objectives during the same run.

If your character already kills quickly, the extra Gold, crafting materials, and experience can add up over a long session. Players who want to buy Diablo 4 Gold may also treat the item as part of a broader resource strategy, rather than expecting it to replace normal farming.

However, do not blindly equip it everywhere.

Keep a Backup Amulet or Ring

For difficult bosses, high-tier Nightmare content, or encounters where survival is already tight, switching back to a defensive jewelry setup can be the smarter choice.

A simple rule works well:

• Easy content = farming Soul Splinter.
• Hard content = prioritize survival.

There is little value in doubling your resource drops if you keep dying before completing the activity.

Is Splinter of Lies Worth Farming?

For characters focused on leveling, crafting, or accumulating resources, Splinter of Lies can be extremely useful. Its best feature is that the bonus applies to activities you are already running, rather than forcing you into a completely separate farming system.

The downside is equally clear: the permanent Weakened and Vulnerable effects can hurt fragile builds.

That makes this Soul Splinter more of a farming tool than a universal best-in-slot choice. Build strength, content difficulty, and personal tolerance for risk should decide when you use it.

If you are preparing for extended Season 15 farming, cheap Diablo 4 Gold can supplement your normal resource management, while cheap D4 Gold for sale is another option some players may consider when gearing and preparing new characters.
